Shortening of Days

Well.....the summer is coming to an end.
The days are getting shorter.
The daylight hours after work are getting less and less.
The sunrise in the morning is starting to greet me again on my ride to work. As much as I enjoy them, I wish I could push it back just a couple of months. Start the summer again....knowing what I know now!!!
Okay...so maybe...more than just a couple of months. Maybe...a few....several.....a decade or two or three....not four!!!!

Those....Hours

It's difficult so many days...working long 10 to 12 hour work days....especially during one of the beautiful times of the year....when the earth comes back alive from it's winter nap (oh...how I wish I could take a long winter's nap...or just a cat nap).......
but.....when it allows me to enjoy the magnificent beauty the universe has to offer as this wonderful sunrise (at 55 mph)....it takes away a little bit...if even just a little...of the frustration.
And.....after the grueling day of sitting in front of a computer while trying to please...just whoever.....I don't know....but when it ends like this..............

Well....to me....it's almost as good as....
drinking a glass of wine......

Looking Out

Maybe....just maybe....Lady Luck knows what she is talking about. Yet another awesome sunrise of which I caught just the tailend (with my camera that is). The drive in was breathtaking. The sun had an orange hue to it that I had not seen...or atleast don't remember having seen it in the past. Another ride in to work making me regret having to come in...when I would much rather have been somewhere else...stopped on the side of the road...in a spot to allow me to capture that which Mother Nature provides that just can't seem to be captured (atleast not by me) on a camera.

And then....of course....the highlight of it all....the first afternoon of the season that was a 'must have sunroof open' during ride home kind of day. This...makes all the long winter memories be just....that....memories.

So maybe Lady Luck knows what she is talking about.

To Start.......

...a day with this. Need I say more?
As the years go by, each morning is just a bit more difficult to rise before the sun, to prepare oneself for a day of labor, to make the journey to that place where one will be locked up for the day, closed off from what Mother Nature has to offer....but all it takes is a view such as this to make it all worth it.
I've never been a late sleeper. Sure there are days when I enjoy laying in bed longer than really necessary....but I know when I do....somewhere...I am missing this.
